New PCWH Paper Published – Program Attrition

One of the main challenges in offering health services and interventions for managing pediatric obesity is attrition. It is not uncommon for 50% of families to discontinue a service or program prematurely, which limits their ability to benefit from care and takes clinical resources away from families who are ready, willing, and able to participate.

As part of her graduate research with us, Jasmine Dhaliwal led a review of the literature to compile the available evidence regarding predictors of (quantitative data) and reasons for (qualitative data) attrition in pediatric weight management. Thanks very much to Jasmine, Nicole, Nick, Lonnie, Jill, and Alli for all of their contributions to complete this timely review.

Our paper was published this week in Childhood Obesity. The abstract is available here, but if you’d like a pdf copy, please send me an email.
