Speaking Out

Effective communication is a key part of our day-to-day work, both in health care delivery and clinical research. This past week, one of our trainees highlighted his strength and passion in this area by winning an award at a UAlberta event.

Daniel Neuman (4th year Nutrition student, UAlberta) has been working with our research group over the past several months on a study to explore families’ perceptions of using home visits to support children enrolled in weight management at the PCWH. Recently, Daniel competed in the 2016 Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Studies Macgregor Smith Speaking Competition. His result? Third place, based on a 5-minute presentation on patient-centred care, a topic that was (in part) informed by his experience with our clinical and research team members at the PCWH. Congrats Daniel!
