When starting graduate studies, it can take a few unfunded scholarship applications before students achieve success. But once students are successful in receiving an award or two, it often seems that things snowball. That’s just anecdotal experience…
…but it holds true for Maryam Kebbe (PhD Student, Dept of Pediatrics, UAlberta) who started out with a few unsuccessful submissions, which were followed by a couple of awards. Most recently, Maryam learned this week that she received a Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, a national award that’s her most prestigious to date.
Way to go, Maryam!
