A Taxing Situation

Over recent years, there’s been growing interest in taxing sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) as a means to improve public health. 

While novel (and largely unpopular) when the concept was first introduced in the mid-90s, substantial progress has been made since then, both in the public discourse and legislative agendas of lawmakers at local, regional, and national levels.
