About this time last year, we had a new member join our research team in Edmonton.
Dr. Ane Kokkvoll and her family moved from their home in northern Norway to spend an adventurous year in northern Canada, moving from one cold climate to another. During her year as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Alberta, Ane worked with our local research group on several projects (and extended her own research on the Finnmark Activity School project), gained insight into health services delivery in Canada, and enjoyed much of what this part of the world has to offer….from skiing to hiking to biking and beyond, including larger-than-life condiment containers (!).
Despite the distance, our research collaborations will continue in the years to come as Ane assumes a new administrative leadership in Pediatrics at her home institution, continues her own research, and works to develop a new multidisciplinary pediatric weight management clinic for children and their families in northern Norway.
We miss you already, Ane…
